Welcome to the Hadrian's Wall Hampers Terms & Conditions. By accessing this website and/or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions as set out below.

Alcohol

It is illegal in the UK to sell alcohol to persons under the age of 18. It is also an offence for persons under 18 to buy, or attempt to buy, alcohol. No persons under 18 years of age may place an order with Hadrian’s Wall Hampers if the goods contain alcohol.

Cancellations

Orders can be cancelled up to 7 days prior to despatch, when a full refund, minus any administration costs, will be credited.

Any orders cancelled with less than 7 days' notice will be refunded, minus any administration costs and any charge for perishable goods which cannot be resold.

For on line purchases the customer has the right to cancel an order up to 7 days after receipt of goods. Where this right is exercised you will be refunded the full amount minus any perishable goods which cannot be resold and any items which have been consumed (all postage & packaging costs are non refundable). This refund will take place within 30 days. All goods must be returned in good condition. The refund will be made less any charge for perishable items once the hamper has been returned, suitably packaged. Notification of cancellation must be in writing - letter, fax or email.

Claims

All claims for damage or loss caused in transit will be met in full provided that goods are signed for upon receipt as either "damaged" or "unexamined" and the carriers and ourselves are informed at once and confirmed in writing - letter, fax or email - within 24 hours of delivery.

Unsatisfactory goods will always be replaced or payment refunded. Damaged goods must be retained for inspection and it may be required they be returned to us at our expense before replacement or refund, this being at our option. Returned goods must clearly show the full name and address of the sender. Our liability is limited to the selling price of the goods in all cases.

Deliveries

We aim to despatch your order within 72 hours of receipt. If an e mail is provided at the time of purchase we will send you a despatch confirmation containing a tracking number once the hamper has been despatched. Christmas gift orders are dispatched around the 12th to 14th of December to arrive in good time. Should you require a specific delivery date please give us a call.

If you specify a date for delivery we will do our best to make sure your hamper arrives on that date. You can specify a delivery date of Monday to Friday or Saturday (for an additional charge). Unfortunately we cannot deliver on a bank holiday or on a Sunday. Should events outside our control prevent delivery we will contact you as soon as possible.

In most cases we will use couriers to deliver your hamper. Next day delivery is available to most areas of the UK but there will be an additional charge for this. Please give us a call for details.

Delivery charges are not included in the product price, but are charged at the price of £9.25 per item. An additional charge applies for shipments to offshore UK addresses or Northern Ireland. Please call 01434 689857 and we will provide a personal quote.

A signature will be required on delivery so please make sure that there will be someone in at the delivery address you specify. If delivery cannot be made the courier will attempt to deliver the same day and will leave a card asking the recipient to call their depot to arrange a more convenient time. If the recipient does not contact the courier the hamper will be returned to us and we will have to make an additional charge for redelivery. Please include a contact telephone number for the delivery address so that the courier can contact the hamper recipient if necessary.

Please note that we cannot accept responsibility for deliveries which are refused by the recipient or where our courier cannot deliver because of an incorrect address. Please check that your specified delivery address is correct and include a postcode.

Where deadlines for ordering are stated, Hadrian’s Wall Hampers cannot be held responsible for late deliveries resulting from orders received after the required deadline.

Collection - Gifts may be collected personally. Please contact us to book in a time for your collection.

Description and Quality

Every effort is made to strictly conform to description and quality, but we reserve the right to substitute any goods which may not be available, for any reason, in which case we are most particular to give equal or better value. Items shown in photographs and accompanying list are purely illustrative of a typical example of contents. The contents description contains the items which will be in the gift (or a similar substitution). Photographic props such as glasses, plates, candles, Christmas stocking, flowers and fruit are not included.

Force Majeure

Every effort will be made to carry out the contract but its performance is subject to cancellation or variation as may be necessary as a result of an Act of God, War, Strike, Lockout, Labour Dispute, Fire, Flood, Drought or other cause beyond the control of Hadrian’s Wall Hampers.

Hadrian's Wall Hampers

Hadrian's Wall Hampers is a trading subsidiary of Carraw Bed and Breakfast, Carraw Farm, Humshaugh, Hexham, Northumberland, NE46 4DB.

Law

These conditions, and all acts of Hadrian’s Wall Hampers and its Employees, shall be governed and construed in every way in accordance with the Laws of England.

Overseas Orders

We regret that at this point we are unable to supply our products overseas; only to addresses within the United Kingdom.

Payment

We accept payment online by PayPal. If you telephone your order we will accept payment by Visa, MasterCard or Switch/Maestro. If you fax your order we will also accept payment by Cheque or Postal Order made payable to 'Carraw Bed and Breakfast'. Value Added Tax is charged at the current rate where applicable. Hadrian’s Wall Hampers is compliant with the Data Protection Act. We will not pass on your details to any third party without your prior consent. Goods will only be despatched once payment has been received in full.

Property Rights

All material on this website is © copyright Hadrian’s Wall Hampers and may not be used elsewhere in any form without the express written permission of Hadrian’s Wall Hampers.

Reservation of Title

All goods supplied by Hadrian's Wall Hampers remain the property of Hadrian's Wall Hampers until such time as they are paid for in full.

Security

The security of your online purchase is of paramount importance to us. All transactions take place on a secure server, using the latest available security technology. All data sent to our server and the data returned to you when viewing a secure page is encrypted to prevent unauthorised persons intercepting your details. When you enter the checkout area of our site you will move to our secure server.

If you are not happy about disclosing your Credit Card or Personal Details over the Internet, feel free to contact us.

Taxation

All quoted prices include VAT at the current rate. If VAT or other relevant taxation changes, we reserve the right to adjust our prices accordingly.

The Term Hamper

The Term Hamper is used in the general sense and refers to any container used in which we pack a selection of food and drinks. Where baskets or special containers are used, it is clearly stated.

You acknowledge that you have read and agreed these terms and conditions. You have independently evaluated the desirability of purchasing from this website and are not relying on any representation, guarantee or statement other than as set forth in these Terms and Conditions.
